Hawaii here we come

Finally we have left Long Beach Harbour LA at 1745 hrs lokal.
We were scheduled to leave at 1700 hrs.
I could hear in the Captains voice that the poor guy who had forgotten to remove a Bunker Barge from our port side -in time- was not very popular.
The University of Southern California - USC - had sent their Trojan Marching Band to say good bye to Crystal Serenity (Crys-Se) and us.
First they played at the pool onboard the ship and later from 1700 - 1740 from the pier.
It was a little windy and the temperature not more than 15 centigrades so it became a long cold affaire for both the band and us.
Before we left the harbour we had our Mandatory guest emergency "Muster" wearing our life jackets at our lifeboats.
No "spaghetti" Captain here, but a "solid" norwegian from Tønsberg - Master Edvardsen- I feel safe.
The so called "Pacific Ocean" started with a small storm - windspeeds at about 50 knots- but as you maybe have heard Seattle is experiencing the worst snowstorm since the second world war right now.
So let us get out of here down south to the warmer latitudes as fast as possible.
The Internet at sea is still not what it ought to be. No Skype so far. I do not understand why, but it could be a question of money. Somebody is smart enough to sabotage the poor mans telephone.

  2. Hej Farfar!
    Mvh. Henrik
