Interlude before next enrichment program. Some sort of an evaluation of the past decades. Now you are warned. At sea with nothing to do you start thinking about a lot of different things, which may have connection to each other, or not at all.

In 1980 Ted Turner got the idea of a worldwide 24 hours’ cable network news TV channel. He was very concerned about the Ethical Journalistic Quality of the news it transmitted to the customers. The channel got the name CNN, and was even from the beginning respected as coming very close to the idea of being both objective and neutral in its presentation of the news.

In 1990 Ted Turner was bought out of CNN by Time-Warner. They succeeded in maintaining CNN’ good reputation for the next decade. In that period, all big decision makers opened for CNN before going to an important meeting. They had become used to that CNN had picture documentation of things, which had happened, and which their own security organization not yet had briefed them about.

Today we have witnessed that CNN has become just another commercial TV channel, which neither is ethical, neutral or truthful. They gambled during the president election campaign and lost.  It is understandable if Trump is going to make them pay or even ignore them in the future. It is a pity they had deserved better.

The Russian problem.

At Trump’ press conference he said that Putin, in the last telephone meeting, had mentioned that the journalists in USA could make it so difficult politically for Trumf to make a meaningful deal that it became impossible. It ought to shut up the press until they have had a chance to negotiate with each other. It is not up to the press to formulate a whole lot of requests before such a meeting takes place! Maybe it is too much to request of the press after they have experienced that they don’t anymore decide who people want to be president.

The Swedish problem

Now they gloat over catching Trump in quoting something incorrect from a TV News cast he apparently only had seen casually some time ago. He ought to have known that TV news gradually has become gossips from women’s tea party clubs not facts anymore. It is sad to have it confirmed once more.
