Finally we lie at anchor in Ha Long Bay outside Hongai, until now known for its coal-export harbour. After James Bond was here in a movie, the Ha Long Bay has been a tourist magnet and in 1994 UNESCO declared it a “natural heritage site of worldwide importance”. Today everybody in the area make a living from some sort of tourist service, and they like it much better than the hard work in the coal mines. They enjoy showing the tourists the picturesque Ha Long Bay from their Junk’s.
The temperature had dropped to 14 degrees C this morning and together with a strong breeze it felt like wintertime in the north. It was hard to remember that we had about 30 degrees C in Da Nang 2 days ago.

Limestones in the water - Master
well on track - 4 more to go
well something is happening
I give up ! You got to rely on your Radar
next morning - we made it, but what are they doing ?
trying to move us away or waiting for us to go on a tour
in Ha Long Bay ?
it is cold - it is blowing a gale - shall ? shall not ?
Rear - sight
we are not alone !
What is that ? a whole lot of Junks watching the roosters fight
or the chickens kiss ? (we will be back later to find out) -
the ugly duckling ?
but it was made of limestone - very hard !
Old woman riding a dragon - I think
" Crys-Se " still there so do not worry
well there it is , but we got to line up in the queue
they are determined to keep their position
we go around !
well not too bad, but are they kissing or fighting
Well the women are sure they are kissing,
but the local guide - the judge - decides they are fighting.
