Rarotonga – Cook
Islands
One funny thing
about Rarotonga Cook Islands is that Captain Cook himself never got to set food
on this island, so in a way we had the same faith, neither of us got more than
to see its silhouette. Never mind nobody wanted to get his behind wet because
of this island!
The Captain decided
that the swells were too high this morning, and it is well known that they usually
get higher during the afternoon. Therefore it was not worth taking the risk
that people returning from an excursion in late afternoon would get stranded on
the island. No Robinson Crusoe spirit here apparently.
Though it was a
pity for the welcome party and the tour operators, they had probably a loss
because of the cancellations. That is life sometimes you win and sometimes you
lose. Further cool facts about Rarotonga I leave to your imagination!
By the way the
Captain talked about that he would find another little island, on our way to
New Zealand, on which we might find natives whom we can capture with Chinese
souvenirs and the whole thing. It sounds exciting let us hope he can keep his
word? We started in Caribbean (which meant cannibal) and now we might get the
real thing what about that? It must be aventur (French).
Hello Rarotonga
Here we are
well not !
we will say hello to Captain Cook
he has been on standby for many years
goodbye
